Greeting
On behalf of the organizing committee, I am honored to invite you to the 23rd Biennial Meeting of the Society for Free Radical Research International (SFRRI 2027), which will be held in Sendai, Japan, from March 28 to 31, 2027.
The theme of the meeting, “Expanding Horizons with New Concepts and Technologies,” reflects our collective aspiration to push the boundaries of redox biology and related disciplines. In recent years, advances in analytical chemistry, imaging, and omics technologies have revolutionized our understanding of redox regulation, stress responses, and signaling networks. Building on this momentum, SFRRI 2027 aims to provide a vibrant platform where innovative ideas and cutting-edge technologies converge to redefine the future of redox science—from molecular mechanisms to translational medicine.
Sendai, located in the heart of Japan’s Tohoku region, is a city where tradition and modern science harmoniously coexist. The meeting will take place during the cherry blossom season, when the city’s tree-lined avenues and riversides are adorned with delicate pink blooms. We hope that participants will take this opportunity not only to enjoy inspiring scientific discussions but also to experience the warm hospitality, rich culture, and renowned local cuisine of Sendai—especially its fresh seafood, grilled beef tongue (gyutan), and refined sake.
We believe that SFRRI 2027 will be a memorable and intellectually stimulating event that strengthens international collaboration and inspires the next generation of redox researchers. We warmly welcome you to join us in Sendai to share your discoveries, exchange ideas, and celebrate the expanding horizons of redox science together.
We look forward to seeing you in Sendai in the spring of 2027.
